WE HAVE NOT STOPPED A SINGLE DAY DURING LOCKDOWN

No one in this universe was prepared for what 2020 brought us. The pandemic simply crippled the complete business set up on a global scale. As every nation went for a complete shutdown for a period of 6 months the hotel and the tourism sector was the hardest hit. The Covid-19 crisis didn’t even spare the education and training sector in a big way. The crisis threw up a lot many challenges for hotels and other educational institutes, like conducting exams and campus recruitments for the students were at stake.

The esteemed institutes like IIIHM under IEM-UEM Group had to figure out some new innovative ways to keep connected with the students especially those in the hospitality sector. Hospitality management requires a lot of practical courses, to provide the students a first-hand experience regarding their professional arena. Therefore providing those students online classes required a lot of mastery along with a high level of professional skills. Such sets of challenges were extremely complex and needed a complete effort from the faculties to make it a success. The online webinar started to take place especially for BHM students; they were given the task of preparing certain food or performing certain tasks in their own houses and show it online.

Even though such online courses sound an easy go solution, but conducting such classes does put a lot of additional burden on the faculty. It's extremely mentally exhausting for the person who has been conducting such online classes regularly.

This noteworthy ground-breaking steps were taken by IEM-UEM Group, ensuring that the students especially in the hospitality sector do not suffer proves the proverb “Where there is a will, there is a way.” And is a live example of how an education institution can run its courses and keep its students engaged even in such a global crisis.
